Down 3-1 to Saipan, scored four runs in the top of the third and two more in the fourth. As a team, stole eight bases in the game... Scored five runs in the top of the sixth inning to break a 5-5 tie with Whalley in eventual 10-7 win. Ryan Hotchkiss went 3-for-5 at the plate, with a double, a triple, and four RBIs... 13-5 win over Maine District 3’s Bangor East/West came in five innings, as the game was called because of rain. Batters were 6-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Pitchers limited Bangor East/West to three hits. Although El Rio was scheduled to be the home team for the game, the U.S. West champ opted to be the visiting team... El Rio’s lone run in 1-0 semifinal win over San Francisco scored on an error... Almost got to share the World Series title with Freehold Township when rain threatened to wash out the championship game. Scheduled for 1 p.m., the game didn’t begin until after 8:30 p.m. Gave up five runs in the second and five more in the fifth in 10-1 loss to Freehold Township... Stole 18 bases as a team in the series...
