Notes

Allowed only one hit in 16-2, five-inning win over Windmills. Freehold Township hitters were 11-for-19 with runners in scoring position. Base runners stole eight bases... Scored nine runs in the fourth inning in 12-1, five-inning rout of Greater Helotes National. Four of the runs came off the bat of Jason Nardi, who hit a pinch-hit grand slam, the first grand slam in Bangor World Series history. Brett Brach allowed only two hits... Was down 2-1 to San Francisco entering the bottom of the seventh when Shawn Boysen hit a lead-off home run to tie the game. San Francisco went on to score two unanswered runs in the ninth, though, giving Freehold Township the 4-2 loss... Freehold Township’s only run in 1-0 semifinal win over Dade City came on a Nardi single after Dade City pitcher Domonic Brown walked the lead-off batter in the sixth and advanced the runner to second on a wild pitch. Brown would later go on to play in the majors as an outfielder for the Philadelphia Phillies... Almost had to share the World Series title with El Rio after rain delayed the championship game’s original start time of 1 p.m.; the game began shortly after 8:30 p.m.. Scored five runs in the second and five more in the fifth in the 10-1 title game win... Brach was drafted as a pitcher by the Cleveland Indians in the 10th round of the 2009 Major League Baseball amateur draft (305th overall pick), a class that included Dade City pitcher Robbie Shields... Ryan Cuneo was drafted as a first baseman by the Chicago Cubs in the 20th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball amateur draft (610th overall pick)...
