Notes

12-2 win over Whalley was in five innings because of the 10-run rule. Hitters were 6-for-12 with runners in scoring position... Led Saipan 5-4 before the Asia-Pacific champ scored two unanswered runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 6-5 win... Lost its semifinal against eventual champ Freehold Township when Domonic Brown walked the lead-off hitter in the top of the sixth inning, advanced him to second on a wild pitch, and then gave up an RBI single... Brown was drafted as an outfielder in the 20th round of the 2006 Major League Baseball amateur draft by the Philadelphia Phillies, the 607th overall pick; he made his Major League debut for the Phillies on July 28, 2010, hitting an RBI double in his first plate appearance. In 2013, he became the second Bangor World Series alumnus to be named to a Major League All-Star team, with 2002’s Jair Jurrgens (Pabao L.L., Willemstad, Curacao, Netherlands Antilles) the first in 2011. As a pitcher, Browns owns the Bangor Senior League World Series records for most strikeouts (24), most innings pitched (21), and most walks (16)... Robbie Shields was drafted as a pitcher by the New York Mets in the third round of the 2009 Major League Baseball amateur draft (103rd overall)...
