Notes

First Maine District 3 team to go winless in a World Series... Game against Whalley began at 10:47 p.m. and ended at 1:23 a.m. after games had been pushed back more than two hours because of rain. Had a 3-1 lead against Whalley until the Canada champ erupted for six runs in the top of the fifth inning. Only three of Whalley’s runs were earned, as Bangor East/West committed four errors... Scored five first-inning runs against Saipan, then gave up four runs in the next inning. Led 6-4 entering the top of the sixth when Saipan scored six more runs en route to 10-8 win... 13-5 loss to El Rio was shortened to 4 ½ innings because of rain. The teams each scored three runs in the first, with El Rio adding three more in the second and Bangor East/West answering with two before El Rio pulled away...  The four losses extended Maine District 3’s losing streak to seven games...
