First Latin America team to win a Bangor World Series without having at least one 10-run rule win... The fourth Bangor World Series champion to go 6-0, the others being Paraguana L.L., Falcon, Venezuela (2006), North Cumberland L.L., Upper Deerfield, N.J. (2008), and Hilo L.L., Hilo, Hawaii (2011)... Limited Emilia to only one hit in 3-0 win over the Europe-Africa champ... Was down 3-0 before scoring four runs in the fourth and another run in the fifth in 5-3 win over Kennett Square in pool play. The game did not begin until 10:08 p.m. because of rain earlier in the day, and did not end until 12:57 a.m... Was down 1-0 to Northside until scoring two runs in 2-1 win over the U.S. Southwest champ on the last day of pool play... Was within one strike of defeating Martinez-Evans in the semifinals before Martinez-Evans got a game-tying single that eventually sent the game into extra innings. Was down 3-2 in the ninth with one out before tying the game 3-3. Scored the tying and winning runs on the same pitch in the 12th inning: a two-out wild pitch that enabled the tying run to score and a subsequent error on the throw to the pitcher from the catcher that enabled the winning run to score. The game was the second-longest in Bangor World Series in terms of innings, at 11 5/6 innings, and the longest in terms of time, at 4 hours, 6 minutes. Chitre set a record with four ejections in the contest: Luis Alonso was ejected in the first inning, along with manager Azael Dominguez Dominguez, when the plate umpire ruled that Alonso had attempted to use an illegal bat. Gertrudis Tello was ejected in the 12th inning when the first base umpire ruled Tello had intentionally stepped on the foot of the Martinez-Evans first baseman on a ground out. Coach Oscar Guardia was ejected for arguing Tello’s ejection... Against Kennett Square in pool play, Edgardo Sandoval was ejected after throwing his helmet upon being called out... Because of the ejections to Dominguez and Guardia against Martinez-Evans in the semifinal, Chitre had to use players to coach the bases in the championship game, as Little League rules require one adult to be in the dugout at all times... Scored the winning run in the championship game on a passed ball in the sixth inning. It was the first time a Bangor World Series title game had been decided by one run, and the lowest-scoring championship game in Bangor World Series history... Chitre’s pitching staff tied Bangor World Series records for wins (six), shutouts (two), and strikeouts in a game (14, against Martinez-Evans).
