Came up short in its bid to become the third team to go undefeated in a Bangor World Series. The 2006 team from Paraguana L.L., Falcon, Venezuela, and 2008 team from North Cumberland L.L., Upper Deerfield, N.J., were the first two to accomplish the feat... Kept having to fend off Cornwall, before scoring three runs in the top of the 12th inning to break a 3-3 tie and win 6-3. The game lasted 3 hours, 1 minute. Niles-Centerville left the bases loaded for Cornwall in the ninth and 10th innings... 7-6 win over Maine District 3’s Bangor East/West came in the bottom of the eighth inning on a bases loaded walk. Bangor East/West had taken a 6-5 lead in the top of the inning... Scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning and held on for the 7-6 win over Aruba South, in the semifinals... Fell behind 7-0 after 3 ½ innings in the championship game to West University before rallying for six in the bottom of the fourth. After West University added two more runs in the sixth to make it 9-6, Niles-Centerville scored another run in the bottom of the seventh and got the tying run to first and the winning run to bat before running out of outs... Casey Jennings hit a two-run home run against West University in the championship game... Mark Wik went 10-for-25 (.400) in the series, with two doubles and seven RBIs. Wik was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 21st round (639th overall pick) of the 2012 Major League Baseball amateur draft...
